Best Art Museum's In Seattle
Seattle has been the scene for bringing out some notable talent in the music arts. Grunge originated here but it is also the home of some of the great would be artist of this decade. The city may exist under a perpetual cloud of mist but the museums are really something you have to see to believe. If Seattle is on your list of places to visit read on to find out about two of the most interesting museums in town.
Review of Museum of Glass Dale Chihuly is one of the most prolific artist of the 20Th century in the medium of Glass. That his work is the inspiration for the construction of this magnificent museum, which is much a work of art as the collections inside. The curators will travel far and wide to find and bring home the very best art glass in the world back to Tacoma. A huge variety of glass artworks are and have been featured in the galleries.
The building sits on the waterfront and is adjacent to another famous Seattle museum. You can find stained glass in the style of the renowned artists of Tiffany. There are always traveling exhibits from a European museum that will take your breath away. There are exhibits by artists that push the boundaries of glass art.
The highlight of this museum is its hot shop, the vast coned studio space where you can get to watch the working of the glass at real kilns by various artist. The Bridge designed by Chihuly that spans 500 feet allows you to walk right across to the Washington State History Museum on the other side. The bridge has over 9million dollars worth of glass in it.
The Henry Art Museum
Known by natives simply as "The Henry" the great museum on the campus the University of Washington in Seattle was the first public museum opened in this state in 1927. The original designers for the building were Bebb and Gould. They are also responsible for the U.S. Marine Hospital and the Seattle's Time Square as well as many other popular building in that area.
If you are a fan of contemporary art and the history of photography, this is the museum for you. The building got a face-lift and an expansion 1997. The architectural firm of Siegel & Associates added an auditorium that seats 154 people. They have held exhibits that features works by Maya Lin, Lynn Hershman Leeson and Axel Lieber.These are just two of the many museums around the Seattle area.

Taking pictures in an Art Museum?
I'm planning a trip to the art museum tomorrow and would love to take some pictures in the areas where they allow it. I'm a real amateur and haven't really taken pictures without flash. I have a Canon Powershot A710 and am just getting used to it. I'm still trying to get the hang of aperture, shutter speed, etc. What settings should I use and what changes should I make if the shots come out blurry and unclear?
This one allows no flash photography in some areas.
Generally they do not allow flash or tripods, so you will have to use the highest ISO setting and us shutter priority (set at the highest setting it will go inside the museum) so you don't get camera movement. Using the zoom set for wide angle will also reduce camera movement. Be sure to have you IS turned on.
To further reduce the possibility of camera movement, use the viewfinder so your eye, cheek and hands can steady the camera.
Since you have never done this before, you should practice before you go.
