Using Watercolor Pencils
Choosing the right watercolor pencils can help you create a beautiful work of art. Watercolor pencils are different from the traditional brushes in that they are easier to use and carry around. Because they don't need water to work, you can take them along with you wherever you go. After all, you never know when you might get inspired. After sketching, you can apply water to your work to create a traditional watercolor painting.
There are many watercolor pencil sets to choose from. They come in many different shades and colors. Some brands are tested for light fastness, which is important for more experienced artists. Generally, the more expensive the watercolor pencils, the better results they yield. Some are made with very high quality pigments meant for professionals. The colors are easier to mix, and they blend together perfectly. If you want to cut down on the time you spend blending colors to find the right one, you can purchase a large set. This option might be more expensive, but you will have all the colors you need at your disposal.
Using your watercolor pencils is easy. Use them the same way you would colored pencils or crayons. Pick paper that will be able to handle the application of water later. You might need to try different types of paper before you settle on the right one. Because watercolor pencils are soft and creamy, typical rough watercolor paper might make the results look grainy. Since long time ihave a kind of passion to learn hw to use and create art and draw things and sketching using pencil colours.i dont have much knowledge about sketching but have an inbuild inclination for it.is there any site that teaches these things in an easy and step by step process. please help.
Googling things like 'color pencil tutorial' will find you anything from bare bones basics for kids, to semi-pro stuff online. There are also youtube videos showing art being done. Type in 'Youtube color pencil'
or "Youtube color pencil sketch', there's a time lapse drawing on one of those that's good.
I've bookmarked a color pencil bulletin board that's VERY good for anyone using this medium, it's a great site and you can see other people's work being shown, plus they have suggestions for tutorials and such.
