Folding Beer Pong Table
For those of you who enjoy playing beer pong or know someone that does, a folding beer pong table is a must-have piece of furniture. These tables are easy to store and perfect for playing your favorite game in your home, your backyard, or taking along to friends house for an evening of fun.
What In The World Is Beer Pong?
Beer pong is a drinking game that was popular in the 50's and 60's on college campuses. It consisted of using a ping-pong table and setting up drinking cups with a set amount of beer in them on both ends of the table. The number of cups differed running usually running from 6 to 10 disposable cups filled with a shot or so of beer and arranged in a triangle much like the balls in the pool game. The players would then play a game of double ping-pong only their goal was to try to get the ping-pong ball into one of the cups. If they succeeded, a member of the opposing team drinks the beer in that cup and play continued.
Today, the game is played pretty much the same only without paddles and players stand behind their cups and throw or bounce the ball at their opponents' cups. There really is no set rulebook for the game so the players either play by clearly established house rules or agree on the rules in advance.
While you can play beer pong on almost any table, having your own folding beer pong table means that you can play the game almost anywhere without taking up table space needed for snacks or other activities that are going on. Beer pong tables make the game more fun. Of course, you don't have to save the folding beer pong table simply for playing the game. It can be used anytime you have additional guests and simply need a little more table space.
Not A Drinker? Beer Pong Can Be Modified For Other Uses As Well!
The wonderful thing about beer pong and beer pong tables is that even people who don't drink love playing their own modified versions of this game. Believe it or not, one version of this game was used at an organizational fundraiser in place of a cakewalk. Instead of drinking beer, players lined up and paid a dollar to have a shot at getting the ping-pong ball into one of the glasses. On the inside bottom of each glass was a number that matched a cake. When the player got their ball into a glass, they won the cake with the matching number!
The folding beer pong table and a modified version of the game using small prizes instead of beer have also been used for a game at children's birthday parties, bridal showers, and even baby showers; allowing even non-drinkers to enjoy the thrill of the game.
