Bulgaria Mountain Resorts
With a territory of 110,994 square kilometers, Bulgaria ranks as the 16th-largest country in Europe. Several mountainous areas define the landscape, most notably the Stara Planina (Balkan) and Rodopi mountain ranges, as well as the Rila range, which includes the highest peak in the Balkan region, Musala. The 378-kilometer Black Sea coastline covers the entire eastern bound of the country. Bulgaria's capital city and largest settlement is Sofia, with a permanent population of 1,405,000 people.
Aside from Bulgaria's historic landmarks and Black Sea Coast, its mountain ranges are also something spectacular and a must visit for travelers to the area. Aside from stunning verdant forests and alpine scenery, the Rila and Pirin mountains are home to the country's top skiing resorts, exciting hiking trails and diverse wildlife sanctuaries.
Beside dramatic views of snow capped mountains and towering old forests, the mountains of Bulgaria are frequented by a multitude of visitors for the excellent skiing runs. Whether you are a beginner or an award winning athlete, you will find an appropriate spot in the area that'll give you much fun and excitement.
Due to the popularity of skiing in Bulgaria, there are plenty of mountain resorts catering to the sports' enthusiasts. One such resort town is Bansko. The area is a popular base for a host of outdoor activities such as hiking, climbing and skiing. Aside from the plenty of opportunities for outdoor fun it offers, it is also a sight to see for the remnants of its 10th century architecture and vibrant culture.
Still in the region of Pirin, Sandanski is another resort that offers the best of Bulgarian mountains. A town of natural mineral springs, this town is famous for its health spas and recreational treatments. So, if you wish to rejuvenate and bring back the bounce in your steps, a Sandanski getaway should be perfect for you.
Next in line is Borovets, it is hailed not only as the oldest but also the largest of all ski resorts in Bulgaria. It is ideally tucked at the foot of Moussala, the highest peak in the country, just north of Rila. Originally established for hunting jaunts for royalty, Borovet has evolved into a high end resort with plenty of luxury accommodations, restaurants and entertainment spots.
While in Rila, make sure to pass by the Rila Monastery. It is perched on the northwestern slope of the Rila Mountains and offers visitors an ideal place for reflection and spiritual tranquility. It is also a fascinating piece of architecture with its remarkable 10th century design and interesting murals and icons. You should see its museum of valuable collections and its incredible library housing thousands of rare books and manuscripts.
The Rhodope Mountains is another mountain resort destination in Bulgaria. It is home to Pamporovo located 1,650 meters above sea level. It's a year-round ski resort with one of the finest ski school's in the country.
Its rivers are ideal for trout fishing and, if you have the heart for it, hunting is also quite popular in the area. This place is a rich source of fascinating stories and folklore so grab a local friend and get ready to be entertained with beautifully woven stories and myths.
Not far from Pamporovo is the beautiful village of Momchilovtsi, a rich cultural destination where you can find the best collections of Bulgarian arts and crafts on display. It is also a fine place to learn a new skill. Courses on weaving, woodcarving and cooking, to name a few, are readily available to the interested visitor.

I feel inadequate at times?
I feel inferior to models and actresses, most of them are gorgeous and men worship them at the drop of a hat. I know that I would never be able to compete with their looks and money. I feel worthless, I am in college but I am not even at a big ivy league school, just a small liberal arts one. I feel like I look funny, I am mixed with bulgarian black and some korean. sometimes I love my looks, at others I think I look alien and strange, like I donut fit any ethnic groups looks. At times I wonder if my life would be easier if I was prettier and had more money.
Well welcome to the club of media-indoctrinated fools 
Take a long, hard look at the lives of those rich hot celebrities. Notice Rihanna getting roughed up? Britney getting ridiculed? Etc. etc? They're often being used, abused and cheated on. Guess why?
Looks + money does not equal success in life or love.
You have your exotic looks, work them. But develop some interpersonal skills to get a satisfying life and see the value of more substantial things than fleeting nonsense such as fashion (emperors' new clothes), fame (only makes people throw tomatoes at you), riches (they may make life easier, but you don't need more than a basic amount), social status (there's always going to be people who are better than you - do you really want to be competing all the time?) and more such nonsense.
Real contentment comes from being able to make a difference in the world, meaningful relationships, seeing beauty, etc. Not from MTV.
And yes, with more money and supermodel looks, some things in life would be easier. But that would not be enough to make you feel like you are worth anything.
