Throughout the centuries artists have been trying to express their feelings by creating canvas paintings. Important hunting events were already depicted by cavemen making use of colour paints made from flowers, fruits and blood.
Expressing our inner thoughts, emotions and ideas to other people via the art of drawing or painting always seemed to be an innate urge. The well-known quote "A painting is worth thousand words" is certainly true.
All emotions individuals feel can be expressed by design and colours. Whether it is an old farmhouse set in a rural landscape or a lady in a park waiting for her lover, the painted object will evoke certain emotions and memories in the observer's mind.
There're several basics the beginning canvas painter need to know. Although you might have been drawing and sketching for years, picking up a brush for the first time will seem unfamiliar. This won't be a problem!
Within a short period of time you'll become familiar with all types of brushes and the strokes that can be created using them. Soon the brush will feel as comfortable as the charcoal pencil you always used to have in your hand.
Paints can add creativity and style to canvas paintings. By adding colour, a face's sole tear drop can take on an entirely new dimension. Paints allow the canvas painter doing this with ease. The level of creativity also depends on the paint types, which the oil on canvas portrait artists will use.
Many portrait artists make use of oil colour paints for large projects. Oil paints don't dry as rapidly and might be rejuvenated with a minor quantity of mineral spirit or turpentine. This gives the portrait painter the opportunity continuing the project another time.
The brushes that will be used creating oil canvas portraits should be cleaned incredibly well. Brushes staying too long in cleaning liquid will usually get out of shape.

ive been looking for the boulevard of broken dreams canvas painting but paying 200 bucks is a lil out of my budget. does anybody have any suggestions as to what website i can find it on, or being in jacksonville florida, does anyone know what store might sell it?
First of all let's be clear- There is only one painting of this image and that is the original. All the rest are reproduction prints whether they art printed on paper or canvas or are canvas transfers. You should be able to find prints and posters of this image for under $30 at artcom or allposters.com Prints on canvas will cost more but I don't think they should cost much more that $ 100 - 150 UNFRAMED Perhaps $200 framed is reasonable. If it is out of your range buy a paper poster and a cheap frame at Walmart.
