how to move carriage to upper line in C program?

i'm writing a program in C that prints a matrix. eg [20][20]-
then 20 lines of 20 characters will be printed. during the program execution
the matrix's values change.. is it possible to move the carriage at the first letter letter of
the first line so that the new print of the matrix will overwrite the old?

(the matrix is used to represent graphically the position of a turtle which is moving
up down right and left. the turtle will be the 'T' and all the other elements of the matrix will be '0'.
as the turtle moves around the matrix will be printed again and again.)
