Let's be honest! It's not easy to make a living as a musician. Guitars, keyboards, amps, trumpets, and drums all break and for the hundreds of thousands of small children who play instruments and take music lessons but haven't learned to properly take care of them, repair technicians always have work.Performer: This is a challenging career path because it's an area where the amateurs are competing against the professionals. This also serves to drive down the price that a professional musician can make. Publishers need sales professionals, executives, and other business minded people who can keep the low margin publishing houses maximizing profits. Private teachers too often make a good living giving piano lessons and other types of musical instruction.There are other careers that work perfectly for somebody who wants to work with music on a daily basis. Don't box yourself in and think that the only thing you can do is perform in a band if you're a musician. The market offers you many choices.

Really there isn't one. The closest I would say is Felix Mendelsohn. He wrote a Midsummer's Night Dream Overture when he was 16 and it's so amazing some call it his Magnum Opus. That being said, Listz as a Pianist was as an amazing child progidy as Mozart was as a composer, but they are far from equal in composition. At 11 his teachers would say they could take lessons from him much eaiser than they could teach him.
Just to give an example of Mozart's prowess as a child. When he was 9 years old he went to see an incredible complex polyphonic piece of church music (these are so complicated it's bizzare). It was considered so sacred that each singer only learned their own part and only the director of music at the church had the score. Mozart went and listened to it. He then proceeded to write down the entire score that night at the age of 9 (I'm repeating this to stress the point he was 9!). This is an indescribable feat that even great composers of modern times probaly could not accomplish (perhaps if they were writing it down as it went they could but to remember the entirely of a long piece is so inhuman).
