Cote d'Azur - The Place to Be

The French Riviera

Due to the fact it's on the Mediterranean coast the climate is beautiful for most of the year. The Cote d'Azur was actually one of the first places labelled as a resort area - offering a place for the wealthy upper class from Britain to visit near the end of the 18th Century. As the railway came along in the middle of the 19th Century, so did people from Britain, Russia and so on who were looking to have a relaxing holiday or play some sports.

Nice

The largest city in the Cote d'Azur is Nice - home to the Nice Cote d'Azur Airport. Nice has a population of over 347,000 and includes many of the 163 nationalities that are present in the Cote d'Azur.

Seaside

If you're interested in moving to this incredible region, or if holiday accommodation is all you're looking for - then you will be met by plenty of beautiful seaside resorts.  From the seaside resorts of Antibes, Frejus, Saint-Tropez and Cannes, you'll be spoilt for choice!

Choose the right Accommodation

How long are you planning on staying? Have you decided where best to stay to visit all of the attractions you want to see? These are just some of the questions you need to answer if you're interested in taking a break from the fast pace of everyday life.

The Cote d'Azur offers you an unrivalled number of options in terms of accommodation, with beautiful holiday accommodation that lets you concentrate on simply relaxing and having a good time by the pool or the sea, to rental accommodation that gives you the freedom to do what you want, when you want.

If a holiday destination that has 300 days of sunshine every single year interests you, then look no further than the Cote d'Azur - the water activities, local traditions and incredible sandy beaches will have you coming back for more every year!

What is the fastest way to get from the Nice Airport (Cote dÁzur) in France to St. Tropez?

I arrive in August (high season) at around 5pm...I heard that the roads can be totally jammed and maybe there are other *affordable* ways to get to St. Tropez (boat??). If you have an answer, please provide a link to the recommended solution. Merci/Thank you!

Well, from Nice to St Tropez it can be a pain by car and the is no train station is St Tropez, but you have options

If you leave Nice early, traffic should not be that bad between Ste Maxime & St Tropez. If all you will be doing is visiting St Tropez, a car would be a big "drag" - parking is either non-existant or expensive, unless you know where to park & don't mind walking for 10-20 mins to the center of town.

Take a boat - the coast is quite pretty between La Napoule & St Raphael, and as you approch St Tropez.

You can easily take a train to St-Raphael and a bus from there to St-Tropez. Buses leave from the St-Raphael train station (5/day, 80 min). Boats between St-Raphael and St-Tropez go twice a day (60 min).
