Some of the most important buildings and monuments for Austrian history stand on the Ringstrasse Street. Kunsthistorisches, Hofburg and Naturhistorisches Museums are three of the greatest attractions of the Vienna. Stock Exchange building, State Opera and other buildings are also visited by the tourists. The Habsburg palace is another great attraction of this city. The Habsburg family used to spend their summer holidays in this place. It has great historical importance.
Hofburg was the residence of Habsburg since the 13th century. The main building is given a Baroque look. There are many separate buildings in the palace. Each of these buildings has separate inner courtyards. Some of these buildings are occupied by the Government and President of Austria. Tourists can have a look of the former apartments of Sissi, Franz Joseph and other members of the Royal family, the Spanish Horseriding School and the treasury (Schatzkammer). Monastery church is used as a wedding venue by the Austrian aristocratic people. Hofburg served as the house of the Habsburg royals until 1918. This place has a great historical significance.
The Baroque palace is another great attraction of the city. It holds some great masterpieces (including the work of Egon Schiele, Gustaw Klimt and Oskar Kokoschka. There are many other items that bear historical significance. Most of the tourists visit this palace.
There are a number of museums in Vienna. Kunsthistorisches Museum is one of the most spectacular one. It is one of the most important and biggest museums of Europe. Apart from the unique collection of Egyptian Art and Ancient Classical Art, the museum features the great works of many important European painters (including, Cranach, Breughel, Tintoretto, Rubens and Rembrandt.)
Vienna is also known for offering entertainment and recreation. The State Opera is a worth visiting spot. It is one of the most prestigious and famous opera houses of the world. It stages numerous ballets, operas and frequent premiers. Many famous and entertaining shows are organized in this Opera house. It is a great tourists spot. Visitors can watch different types of concerts in Vienna State Opera.
St. Stephen's Cathedral is 137 m high. It can be seen from almost any place in Vienna. Tourists from different parts of the world step into this Cathedral to witness its beauty and charm. The visitors can take rest in one of the coffee shops after visiting the tower.
Wine served in the restaurants of Vienna is best to taste. Visitors are often seen taking sips from their wine glasses. If you are visiting Vienna and love to taste wine then you should visit it Vineyard of Vienna. The Danube Tower is a great attraction of Vienna. Most of the tourists witness the beauty of this tower.
