i am doing a research project on womens roles and issues in the elizabethan era. I need some information ! any knowledge you have or any websites would be so useful thank you

Even though there was an unmarried Queen ruling England at the time, even she was being urged to marry by her councillors, as it was viewed that a woman needed a man to guide her. Women were subservient to men, and brought up to believe that and to obey their fathers (or brothers if they had no father) and then their husbands. Their duty was to marry and provide sons and heirs. They also had to be housekeepers and perform many tasks depending on their station in life.

Many noble girls received excellent educations in that era, as did Elizabeth, her sister Mary, and Lady Jane Grey. In Henry VIII's reign, Thomas More educated his daughters well. This, however, did not lead to a profession as we see it today!
