When I registered for paypal maybe 9-10 years ago? I used a faux name. Now I Cant change it!?
When I first signed up for paypal and used it for ebay, it wasn't a "bank" and they didn't have any serious registration requirements- not even a SS# or anything. Not wanting to give a lot of personal information to a "questionable" site, I used a faux name/info. Over time they got more advanced and required more information and security, and it became trustworthy, so I gave it more and more info.
Now I try to change my name to my real one, and they say you can't change the name on the account. I have 10 years of buying/selling, so I don't want to drop it and change to another account- plus when I did try another account, it wouldnt let me reuse my credit card and bank account numbers.
Now my faux name even comes up on my credit report as a name I go by.
I guess it's not the end of the world is it? Theres nothing I can really do about it is there? and nothing inherently wrong with it?
