making a poster using corel paint shop?
im making a poster for an upcoming gig for my friends band..i have 2 images ready to use but i dont know how to actually make a poster using corel paint shop pro. i just want to be able to place one photo on top of the other, as one is a pic of the band the other is their logo..any help would be much appreciated
Open a "New" Corel file at the final size you will want the poster.
Then import your two photos and place them in the document as you want them. Of course, you can resize them as needed.
Be aware, that if you have to resize them UP, or larger, you may get some pixilization. There is nothing you can do about this. If the photo is not of high enough resolution, you can't fix it. The same could be true of the logo unless it is in a scaleable vector format.
Depending on where and how you plan to get the posters printed, you may have to save the file in a particular format. Most commercial printers can accept a Corel format, but some don't, or prefer another format. I suggest you save the finished file in a couple of different formats such as Corel, PDF and JPEG. Among the three, any printing service bureau should find one they can work with. If you have any doubts, call the printer and ask them what they prefer.
Some places will allow you to email the file. Others want you to bring it in. You can bring it in a CD, flash card, thumb drive and some will still accept a floppy disc, if the file is small enough. If you bring a digital file, a comp print is not necessary but it would be a good idea to bring a print with you to help give them a reference as to what the poster should look like.
Remember, that not all printers are the same and not all monitors are the same, so the result you get from the printer may not match all colors exactly. If you have any worries about this, ask them to run a test print for you so you can check it out before they do the entire run. This may delay the print job an hour or so, or even a day, but if color matching is critical, you have to take this step.
