Also bear in mind it is a question of taste, you may get him something in a style he doesnt like - imagine buying a rock music fan a techno album...
A graffiti book might be a good idea as it will have 1000s of different photos of quality graffiti and he will like at least some of them 
If you do go for a print - just make sure you understand the different between street art and graffiti. If you dont then I would ask him before surprising him.
