Radio City Music Hall, a rejuvenated masterpiece

Situated in New York's Rockefeller Center, Radio City Music Hall is a theater and entertainment venue like no other. The expansive complex in Manhattan known as the Rockefeller Center was developed by tycoon John D. Rockefeller, Jr. and this entertainment venue was intended to be one of its showpieces. One of the first occupants of the entertainment arena was the Radio Corporation of America, from which the name of the theater is derived.

The entertainment venue opened its doors in 1932 with an extravagant stage performance featuring Martha Graham and Ray Bolger, well known names at the time. The Music Hall was designed to project a return to classy sophisticated entertainment, but commercial realities caused it to fall back on the established format of a film feature with an elaborate show on stage. This format served the venue and its audiences well until the end of the 1970s. At this time changes in the distribution of movies caused problems for the venue, as did its tradition for showing only G-rated movies. Today the venue, renovated and refurbished to match its original grandeur still shows features and movie premieres but the focus now is on live stage shows and concerts.

With seating for nearly 6,000 viewers, the Music Hall was acclaimed as the world's most immense movie theater at the time of its opening. The theater's interior with its restrained Art Deco style decorations were a refreshing changing from the customary rococo style of other movie theaters of its time. The Music Hall's Great Stage is a majestic 44 m wide and 20m deep, suggesting a resemblance to the setting sun.

Also noteworthy is the Music Hall's magnificent pipe organ, an enormous instrument that is the largest of its kind constructed for a movie theater. It was exceptional as it possessed the versatility to produce diverse kinds of musical entertainment.

how can I get a printed copy of James Potter and the Hall of elders crossing?

the online book at elderscrossing.com

You'll have to make an account at lulu.com and have them publish a copy just for you, not sure how much it costs. The book "James Potter and the Hall of Elders' Crossing" can't be published because then the author could be sued for copyright infringement, but you're always free to make your own printed version as long as you don't use it to make some money.

Here's what the author himself said:

" Hello again, everybody. This thread contains information for those of you who want to get your own copy of JPHEC printed through lulu.com or something similar. NOTE: the previous print version PDF is incorrect-- if you print it in book form, it will read correctly, but the chapter page formatting will be wrong (not all chapters will appear on the right-hand page). The following zipped (compressed) file contains the correctly formatted print PDF as well as a large cover image PDF file. The entire package is over 11 MB, so click the link, then read the following:

http://www.speedbumpstudios.com/chapters/JPHEC_printfiles.zip

Now, as most of you probably know, I was told by Mr. Blair, J. K. Rowling's agent, that I was forbidden from offering published copies of JPHEC in book form. Thus, I cannot authorize any printing of the story in book form. If you choose to use these files to independently seek and produce your personal edition, you realize you are doing so voluntarily and without my official authorization. I make no money whatsoever from any such printing. It is between you, your printing provider, and your God. (grin)

Having said that, if you do choose to use these files to print your own copy, here are some things to keep in mind.

1) Unzip the files and put them on your computer desktop for ease of browsing. You'll need to know exactly where they are when you begin the publishing wizard.

2) Make sure you choose the "PRIVATE ACCESS" distribution option. If you accidentally print the book under the "GENERAL ACCESS" option, it'll be available in the lulu.com marketplace, and then you (and probably me) will get in loads of trouble.

3) The files are formatted for the 6x9 hardcover option.

4) When you get to the cover design section, under "cover properties", click the "text" tab. Next, click on the "spine" heading. Here you can determine what the embossed text on the spine of the actual hardcover (beneath the dust jacket) will read. They do not allow enough letters to spell out "James Potter and the Hall of Elders' Crossing" and my name, so I suggest removing my name from the author section of the spine, then calling the book "James Potter & the Hall of Elders Crossing" (no apostrophe and the "&" sign instead of "and". It'll just fit.)

5) Also in this section, click the "One-Piece Cover (advanced)" button on the top right. Here you will be able to upload the PDF called "JPHECcoverFull.pdf". It'll take a few minutes. The cover is perfectly formatted to fit the book, and it includes a full front, back and spine, along with inner flaps.

After that, the rest is just pushing buttons. At the end, you will be able to purchase your own edition. It'll take ten days for it to be formatted and printed before it's sent, but hopefully it'll be worth the wait.

Hope that helps, and thanks again, all of you, for your ongoing interest in this story! I hope this is a satisfying experience. "
