Jumping Fence

Build a horse fence by yourself
Some things look quite difficult and we often think that is impossible to do them by ourselves, but truth is that with a little afford, many of these things can be done. The same is with the horse fence, at first it may seam that this is possible to make on your own only in the horse games, but don't depreciate yourself!
There are some ways to build a horse fence and for you is better to choose an easy one before you start the process of building. Also you can choose between two types of fencing - an electric horse fence and a steel fence. Here are some instructions that are necessary and the rest is yours.
First let's start with the tools and the materials that you need to supply for this process. You would need Steel posts, cement, electric wire, electric fence charger, hammer, shovel or post hole digger, cross link fence, electric distribution unit, grounding steel rod, mortar, post caps and a voltmeter.
Before doing, the first step is planning. See how the horse fence will enclose the perimeter and measure the whole enclosure. This way you will assure for the needed materials for the job. Also decide if you are going to use a steel fence or an electric fence only, or you'll decide for a combination of the two.
Space evenly the steel posts around the perimeter - a ten feet distance from one post to another is ideal and be careful, they should be high enough to ensure that the horse can't jump over. Next step is to dig holes, at least two feet deep, at the marked spots. They should be level with each other, so place the posts on the holes to see if they are positioned level on the ground. In order to hold the post firmly, after you put each post into place, put some cement into the dug hole.
Place post caps on top of each post and if the fence is to be installed a steel fence, install the top rail. Extend the chain links until the next post is reached and attach one end to one of the posts. The excess fence should be cut off and hook the links to the posts, but be sure that they are firmly secured in place. Proceed the same with the other posts.
If you like electric fence installation, install the wiring according to the manufacturer's instructions, to ensure proper installation. The length of wiring that should be used on the fence depends on the length of the fence that will be installed with wires electrically charged.
And the final step is to connect the electric fence to the power source. See the manufacturer's instructions and install the electric distribution box according to them and connect it to the wiring on the fence. When everything is done, check if the electric fence is working properly by using a voltmeter to test for voltage.
Just work carefully and patiently and you won't have any problems.

What is the best thing I can spray on a wood fence to keep the dogs from jumping on the fence?
It's a pretty old fence and my poor next door neighbor has been nailing it back together. We think it's breaking because the dog is jumping on it pretty heavily. Thanks!!
Well if it's a pretty old fence then you need to take it down and put up a new chain link fence. There is nothing you can spray on it to make them not jump. You need to be a responsible owner and put up a good fence.
