my large silver dollar has some blackis color on the side...?
so im the guy that lost like 7-8 angel fish last week, anyhow, i think the tank is stable now and 3 of the angelfish survived! just now though, i just saw my silver dollar and even though it looks perfectly fine is has two larger black color stains in the side (each in the same location but in different side) any idea anyone...? they look like someone tried to paint it with a brush...
The spot, one on each side of the fish near the operculum, is normal.
It is specially noticeable in adult silver dollars, 4 inches or more in length, and is believed to be a sexual characteristic. Either the male or the female have the spots, I'm not so sure, though, which is which.
