London is a truly world-class city and there's no world-class city without some gourmet restaurants and incredible fine dining establishments.  If you're going for a London food trip – here are the top gourmet food spots to spot some celebrities, celebrity chefs, or collect a few more Michelin stars.

 

The Capital Restaurant at the five-star luxury Capital Hotel in Knightsbridge, near Harrod's, Harvey Nichols, and shops on Sloane Street is known as one of the best hotels for dining in the city.  True gourmet food lovers can experience a five-course degustation menu of classic French food at the legendary Capital Restaurant.  The hotel offers a Gourmet Dining Experience package that includes a three-course menu at the Capital Restaurant, a luxurious room for one night, and an English Breakfast.

 

Alain Ducasse at The Dorchester Hotel is another top gourmet restaurant in London that shouldn't be missed, as the second restaurant in London to receive three Michelin stars.  It's easily one of the top French restaurants – not just in London – but in the world.

The Fat Duck is located in Bray, England, easily reached from London Paddington.  The 35-minute train takes you to the nearby Maidenhead railway station where you can catch a cab to the gourmet restaurant in a small, indistinct country home.  Here, Chef Heston Blumenthal makes magic with his inventive dishes that have earned him the title of one of the top 50 restaurants in the world for the past few years, not to mention three Michelin stars.  Be sure to try his famous dishes like bacon & eggs ice cream, parsnip cereal, or "sound of the sea."

 

Waterside Inn is also located in Bray along the Thames River and is a beautiful spot for a quiet summer lunch.  Here, brothers Michel and Albert Roux create masterful dishes for guests of the inn and gourmet food lovers stopping through.  Classic French dishes and incredible desserts can be enjoyed in the classic dining room overlooking the river while swans and ducks swim by.
