Dublin will come alive with the sight, sound and taste of Nigeria on the last Saturday of August, as Nigerians celebrate 50 years of the country’s Independence in style ......
NCI is open to the public and participants can enjoy an exciting journey into Nigeria as they take part in various activities lined up for the day including Hair braiding, Head Gear tying, Yam Pounding, learning Nigerian dialects and Fashion parade. Fun games include face painting and story telling by moonlight for children, Ludo, Draught, traditional ayo olopon and catching the train. There will be tasting of delicious, palate tingling, mouth watering, finger licking, traditional Nigerian foods and drinks like: Pounded Yam, Jollof rice, Akara, roasted Corn, roasted Plantain (Boole), Moi-Moi, Puff-Puff, Buns etc.
Expect loads of fun at this family fun day with live performances from various Nigerian musical artists and cultural troupes including Esse Agesse, Ojemba, Yinka Melody, DebSandy, Sematecino, Oleku Band, Benin traditional Dancers, Eyo masquerade and Igbo masquerade to mention a few.
