Where can I learn about more paintings/art such as Maxfield Parrish?

I particularly love Maxfield Parrish paintings because of the his good taste in nature, mainly the sky. But I have found a new likeness for art and I want to learn more about it. Where do I start?

On another note, is it normal to get a good feeling in your stomach when you see good art? I just started doing that recently, I don't know why.

I can understand your reaction. Seeing them "in person" is even more exciting. (BTW, I even salivate when I see certain lushly colored paintings, and even when I'm in art supply stores, at the sight of all the paints and colored pencils, pastels, etc. on display!)

My grandparents had a big framed print of Parrish's "Daybreak", which was probably one of the first, dating from the early 1920s, when it was very popular:

I was always fascinated by it.

"In 1922 Parrish completed a painting that was a pinnacle for him in many ways. This painting entitled 'Daybreak' features his daughter Jean, an artist in her own right, and Kitty Owen, the daughter of William Jennings Bryan. It was laid out with dynamic symmetry, embodied classical elements, and featured a mountainous 'Parrishscape' in its background; in short, 'Daybreak' was quintessential Parrish. The ensuing art print of this painting is thought to be the most widely sold art print in history."
