Basic Elements To Consider When Creating The Design Of Your Poster
As you think about and plan for the elements that you are going to include in your poster printing, think about how you can also group all your elements together to present one unit – all your elements united to reflect one overall theme that would make it easier for your target clients to remember your print posters and your message.
When thinking about ways to provide a unified idea, here are some suggestions on how you create a design for your print posters based on unity and harmony among your elements:
First of all, after your research is done on what to do to design your poster printing, it is time for you to begin creating your poster. Determine what your want to say, how you want to say it, and then start creating unit in your print poster with the use of three elements: white space, typeface, and color.
Expert and professional designers know that the basics of designing a print poster start with providing that white space in your poster printing design. What's white space anyway? Contrary to what the name implies, white space is not actually ‘white'. It is actually the negative space – any area in your print poster that has not been covered by any other element. The purpose of the white space is to guide your target clients' eyes to the other aspects of your print poster so that they will stand out. The problem with it is that too little of it can make your target readers more confused; while too much white space can render your target clients' eyes to wander and become restless with your poster design. The key is to just incorporate enough so that your target readers can have a breather from all your elements and be able to take in everything that is in your poster print.
On the matter of your typeface, you have to determine what fonts to use as well as the number of types you are going to write your message on so as also not clutter your design. Two to three fonts will be fine. Serif and Sans Serif fonts are ideal for writing marketing messages, as well as the titles and labels in a poster. And stick to the standard way of writing a regular sentence. You wouldn't want to appear like you're shouting at your target readers with all capital letters in your message.
Finally, choose the color you will use to emphasize your design and message. Understand that the shades you apply to your quality print posters are there for emphasis – to further support your concept and idea to your target clients. Although they are considered to be elements to heighten the aesthetic factor of your print poster, your colors can be your main ally in emphasizing what you really want to say in your message.
As certain colors can also provide different meanings in different cultures and organizations, it is best to choose your shades wisely. Don't make the mistake of selecting colors or color combinations that may offend your particular target audience. Instead of convincing them to be on your side, you will only cause to isolate and alienate your target clients which would be detrimental to your business growth.
Always remember that good design can't very well help poor research and planning. But knowing full well the basics of printing posters can help you a lot in providing your target clients with print posters that get their approval every time.
