any thoughts on harm from an x-ray for pregnant dog?
i am being told that it is harmful to the puppies to have an x-ray done with a pregnant female close to her due date...what do you think? go for an ultrasound even if this might not not show pelvic size, how many puppies or other problems...what would you do?
jen, thanks for your answer... my dogs have had genetic testing, vet check ups, are show quality...i never cared to get "papers" for them because they are my pets. i am keeping the puppies (as pets). i had an x-ray done, two puppies. just talked to a ob/gyn doctor, i work with, she said that this could be very harmful to the puppies? asking what others think?
wolf...i work in surgery. also talked to ortho/neuro/general doc's. i got the mother of my dog (as a puppy, for my daugther) from a co-worker who breeds and shows pomeranians. we breed her, at 2 yrs old, to a show quality pomeranian. this is how i got my female. i am glad you had a good laugh...but i am concerned about my pet...
I have to admit that I never have X-Rays or ultrasounds done on my pregnant females. I follow the natural way, by feeling the movement of the growing pups.
