Art in a Garden Office
Nothing can change a room as much as a piece of art. It can draw you in to another world and another perspective. A room's focus is determined by a piece of art, as well as its atmosphere.
Offices can often fall into the trap of becoming drab or sterile in terms of decoration as inoffensive art is hung so not to offend the wide variety of tastes that accompany a diverse work force. Without others to hold you back, a garden office that is reserved is much like buying a new house with the burst of excitement that comes with making a space your own through decorative expression.
Having a free reign to effectively shape an office is a rare luxury. Making sure that every aspect is focused on making a working environment a place where productivity blossoms should be a main priority. When we are surrounded by an environment we like, we tend to produce our best work, as it complements our frame of mind and our outlook.
The things that capture our imagination and interest can be embodied in the art we display in a garden office. Whether it is the ethereal grace of galloping horses, the bustling life of a city street or a waves lapping up on a quiet sandy beach, images have the power to communicate to the soul and trigger inspiration.
Movement within pictures can also enliven a static space, which is often the case in a small office. Dancers with moving colours and materials, swaying trees or even a babbling river can add a sense of activity that can in turn promote a surge of energy for a worker.
Having art that you are prepared to look at every day and spend large amounts of time with must be something that you will not get bored of or grow to dislike. Choosing the right piece of art for your garden office is a decision that should not be taken lightly. Art should be considered, its size, colours and style should be weighed up against how it looks against other elements of an interior. Having one striking picture placed on a main wall can have just as much effect as having a series of pictures hung in a chaotic pattern around a space.
Even modern art without definitive figures or scenes but with splashes of bold colour can inject a sense of drama. Colour can affect mood, influencing the way we approach situations. In the context of the office, colour can be set in order to energise or calm. Depending on preference, which could be an inclination towards natural tones or towards warm, energising shades, an office can be tailored towards productivity in so much as it provides an environment that complements a feeling of well-being.
Art graces the interior of many houses; the office should be no exception. Just as art serves as an enhancing element of a home that acts to alter its atmosphere, so does it work to determine the ambience of an office. Our environment is often overlooked as an essential element of success and happiness.

I have an MFA in Sculpture and BFA in Painting. Where I live there is a program in the public schools called Talented In the Arts, a part of Special Ed.'s Gifted programs. The original idea was to hire working artist,with MFAs and a minimum of five years professional experience, I think that sometimes the experience requirement may have been waved in some instances for some people. They hired people in the areas of Visual Art,Music and Theater to teach students from the prospective of working professionals. Bringing their working knowledge and experience to the classroom. Regular teachers are really educated to teach. Their major being in education and they minor in a chosen subject. Essentially the subject doesn't matter. The thinking is that they can teach anything just by staying a chapter or two ahead of the students in the text book even in a subject that they really aren't very familiar with. Makes one wonder,doesn't it? But I digress.
However the school systems and the personalities of artist can sometimes be at odds. And the school systems that I was in begin to fudge on the original requirements and started hiring Art education majors. Interestingly none produced any artwork of their own. And students soon realized it in that the individuals couldn't demonstrate any technique or working knowledge of any materials. They had no practical experience..But I digress,still again.
Private schools might be a option but usually pay less.
I had a friend with a Masters in studio that had gotten a job teaching art,with a zoo that had an education department .
Museums may have art programs. As well as community centers, Hospitals. Good luck with this. It took me ten years before I found the teaching position that paid me in response to the degree. I was just unaware that the program even existed.
