Telegraph Cable

Cable a Boon or Curse
Insulating power, connecting lives, safety in wires, bring power to the people .. this all come together and be "CABLES". The birth of cables came form the ropes, which has natural fibers such as Hemp, Sisal, Manila & Cotton it has been used for centuries. In 19th century demand arises for stronger ropes which then improved as steel wires with high quality and lower cost. So by mid of 19th century, manufacture of large submarine telegraph cables was done by using machinary as a mechanically. Early 20th century electric-cable was used in insulating cloth, rubber & paper.
An electrical-cable refers 2 or more wires running side by side & bonded, twisted together to form a single assembly. In electricity they are specifically used for carrying electric current, which are different from electrical cables. Cables which are used for lifting, hauling & towing force is known as mechanical-cables. When one or more optical fibers are present in protective jacket that supports the fiber is called as optical-cables. Wire rope are called as mechanical-cables.
In electric-cables where individual wires are twisted or braided together to produce larger wires which are more flexi than the solid wire of the same size. It can be securly fastend and organised, like using cable trees with the aid of cable-ties.
Any current carrying conductor including cable radiates as electromagnetic effect. It can also pick up energy from any existing electromagnetic field around. Solution to this is to keep the length of the it short in building. One can also route the line of it away form trouble. Besides this there are certain cable designs who can minimise electromagnetic pickup and transmission.

Please help me with these history question?
Write T or F. If it is F, please explain why.
1. By 1854 there were over 15,000 miles of telegraph cable connecting U.S. cities.
2. Deere's plow and McCormick's reaper made it possible for midwestern farmers to plant and harvest huge rice fields more cheaply.
3. As more cities developed public water systems, a few wealthy families were able to install water pumps inside their homes rather than rely on public pumps on street corners.
When it says homework help, it does not mean requesting others to do your work for you.
I will help you with the second question though... rice needs tons of water to grow- hence rice paddies. In the early 1900's there was a dust bowl in the mid-west... what does that suggest?
